  • The Volleyball Programme for the Blanchardstown Area began on last Friday 29th Feb and will continue for a further 6 weeks each Friday at 4-6pm in Corduff Sports Centre.

  • The early stages of developing two Community Volleyball Programmes to increase the number of Children playing Volleyball around Dublin City and County. These programmes are in conjunction with Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and County Dublin VEC. As you can see from above one is already taking shape.
  • A new Youth (12-18) Volleyball Club in Kilbeggan is due to commence in late April.
  • The stop start Club that was formed last Summer in Mullingar is to be relaunched in the coming few weeks. All that is needed is the right equipment to be installed in the venue and this is due to be orgainsed by the end of the April by the Volleyball Association of Ireland and Westmeath Sports Partnership.

Minister Brennan Announces Details of Irish Sports Council Budget for 2008. (24th Jan 2008)
The wide range of Irish sports, from angling to volleyball, gathered in Dublin today to hear the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr Seamus Brennan T.D. announce €13.5 million in funding for governing bodies for 2008.
At a special reception in Dublin for representatives of sports bodies the Minister announced a total of €11.91 million for fifty seven (57) governing bodies for the core grant. This is an increase of 4.5 % on the 2007 core figure of €11.4 million.

The Volleyball Association of Ireland has received the following Grants for 2008.

€214,250 - Core Grant
€50,000 - Women in Sport Programme
